Katti Nrittam also pronounced as Kathi Nrittam meaning the Knife Dance is a melancholic drama of a failed Kathakali Dancer who turns out to be a psychopat killer. The Kathakali dancer was asked to leave the premises of Kalamandalam by Gopi after his performances had been found to miss the spark of tragedy. This turns out to be the point of no return in the film and in a very uncanny way; the point-of-no-return takes place at the very beginning of the film.The dancer names himself as Zebra after he elopes from a prison after getting habituated too much in his striped clothes and starts his killing spree. This happens in the year 2009.However, in background a tragic love quadrilateral is going on; this is synonymous to the tragedy of the Kathakali act performance. A real tragedy is going on spontaneously in contrast to the ‘created tragedy’ by the Kathakali performer a.k.a. the killer.
