Where do children come from" tells the story of Dulce, an active and independent woman living in an harmonious couple with the man she loves, Simon. In her early forties, Dulce wants a child but Simon, in his fifties, refuses. Simon has already two daughters from distinct mothers and thinks that baby diapers kill love. Their Neighbors Ernest and Malik are expecting a baby by way of insemination of a surrogate mother in the U.S. Dulce decides to have a child by the "old methods" with Antoine, her childhood friend but Simon meets the news with incomprehension and rejection. Dulce makes a distinction between love and the desire of child and finally succeeds in both.
