Synopsis

Andrea Segre creates a unique biopic from the film and photo archive of Ibi, an African photographer and filmmaker. Trying to escape her miserable life Ibi agreed to smuggle from Nigeria to Italy mysterious packages, however she was arrested upon entering Italy for possession of narcotics and sentenced to three years in prison. Following good behaviour Ibi was placed under house arrest in Castle Volturno, the largest African community in Europe - it was here that Ibi spent her days until her death in 2015. Never managing to return home, Ibi sought a way to communicate with her family by documenting her life with images, in turn a tender portrait of a woman is created.
