After the Fire is a searing, socio-political drama set in a contemporary London reeling from the aftermath of an avoidable tragedy. Miles has lost everything in the fire, including his beloved daughter. As a taxi driver on a zero-hours contract, Miles is at the mercy of a system rife with class division, in a community assailed by indignities, inflicted by those who have already failed them. After the Fire traces his journey as he tries to find his way back to a life which has meaning, the cornerstone of which is somewhere to live. Miles though is a man on the edge and it is only a matter of time before he will break. Finally, he will find himself on trial, a trial which will bring societal inequity into sharp focus, reminding us of the glaring, ironic contradictions of Britain.
