Jason, a Canadian Filipino, travels to the Philippines and encounters various supernatural beings including the injured Magayon, goddess of the Mayon Volcano, on the run from her jilted lover, Pagtuga, king of a tribe of ancient warriors. Together, they fight their way to her home at Mayon Volcano.

Jason is a Canadian who, after the passing of his estranged Filipino father, decides to go to his homeland in the Philippines. In his travels, Jason meets the local goddess, Magayon, a legendary figure behind the majestic Mayon Volcano. She is gravely injured, and Jason takes care of her wounds. Later that night, a tribe of ancient warriors appears led by Pagtuga, their chieftain who has been wooing Magayon for centuries. The two narrowly escape. They form an uneasy partnership as Jason strives to bring Magayon back home to the top of Mayon Volcano. Along the way, they encounter a collection of mythical creatures and obstacles, all while Pagtuga and his tribesmen trailing them. They successfully reach the top of the volcano as Magayon’s injuries worsen. After a climatic battle between Jason and his romantic rival, the two accidentally injure Magayon. With her dying breath, she urges Jason to go home and leave her at peace in her own home.Magayon is a fantastical journey of a seemingly peculiar pair across the beautiful landscape of the Bicol province while pursued by some of the majestic creatures and characters of Philippines folklore, all in search for their own versions of home.
