Adrián Mendoza (52), has been widowed, due to the effects of the war, and faces together with his 2 minor children Juan de Dios (12) and María del Carmen (10) the fatality that is experienced in the troubled city of Ayacucho.

Adrián returns to his home with Juan de Dios, they have only a few minutes to reach their destination because the Queque de Queda rules from 6: PM., Suddenly the music of the car radio is interrupted by subversive messages, in that circumstance a patrol police arrested Adrián for a routine search, vain was the attempt to change the dial of the station, the police commit him as a suspected terrorist to listen to the station.
The status of the professor is complicated; On the one hand, he is accused as a terrorist of the bloody Maoist group "Shining Path" and he is a fugitive and on the other, the subversives force him to join them.
In the following days more than a dozen soldiers raid his home and is taken to the feared Casa Rosada where he is tortured cruelly. His two youngest children will begin their search in the troubled city of Ayacucho in Peru in the 1980s.
