Vincent, Marie and their son have just moved from Paris to a farm near a small town in the South of France. Vincent, a history and geography teacher, looks forward to a quieter life. Marie, a renowned international pianist who retired in spite of her young age, followed him but rather unwillingly. From the very beginning, one of Vincent's student, Thibaut, invades the family. It seems he is playing a game with the couple's insecurity and Marie's desire for excitement in her new quiet life. While it is doubtful Thibaut's intentions are all motivated by love, Vincent and Marie's relationship drifts apart.
