Synopsis

What happens when a mother (Ana, 42) and her daughter (Maria 20) buy a tiny motor home and embark in a literal and metaphorical voyage to “the end of the world,” in the pursuit of happiness?
In the spirit of “Little Miss Sunshine,” this bittersweet comedy will tenderly show us the journey of the two women, who lock themselves up in the small vehicle and are, inadvertently, faced with their phobias, fears and the scars that life has left on their souls. Ana and Maria leave their native São Paulo and the neurosis of urban life, with no fixed date to return, hoping to make a pause from a life that goes much too fast for them. Their aim: to reach “the end of the world,” Ushuaia.
“ATÉ O FIM DO MUNDO/TO THE END OF THE WORLD” is a bittersweet and universal tale of love between a mother and a daughter, against the spectacular backdrop of Argentina’s landscape; it is a road movie of self discovery.
