A nation of people seemingly content go about their business, not thinking too much, but simply trying to lead normal and peaceful lives. And then one day a bus is hijacked rousing them from their reverie. Ex-boxer-turned-cop Ichigo Kamikura (Mukai) leads the NPS, an honoured law enforcement unit known as ‘S’, in dealing with the crisis, but so far no demands have come from the perpetrators and a sinking feeling of impending doom sets in among the force. Sure enough, not long after a massive tanker off the Japanese coast is reported as being seized. Onboard is enough plutonium fuel to blow up the entire country. Faced with an unprecedented crisis, the Prime Minister gathers his cabinet in the ministerial residence. The perpetrator is on the hotline commencing a countdown to Japan’s destruction. And it’s up to ‘S’ to heed the call.
