This is a tale of a man struggling with poverty who gets her wife raped in a bid to get government compensation to make his wife happy.

Ghisu and his wife Phulwa is a happy couple who live in a Dalit Slum area. They are madly in love with each other but face constant financial crisis.One day, a man from their locality passes through their home flaunting his new Nano car with his jewellery ridden wife and Ghisu and his wife Phulwa are left standing there watching each other. Later, Ghisu comes to know that the man's wife was raped and they have got compensation from the government. Phulwa taunts Ghisu saying, see how much he loves his wife, and we don't even have enough money to light Diyas this Diwali.Ghisu then plans to take advantage of this scheme and strikes a deal with a local loafer Kulla to rape his own wife Phulwa. But Kulla not just rapes Phulwa, but also takes his gang and gang rapes Phulwa brutally. Phulwa dies a painful death. Ghisu's condition is now pathetic and is left crying full of regrets for his actions as he has lost his loving wife and also didn't get the compensation.
