I REMEMBER is a poetic attempt of autobiographic inspiration in which the film-maker mixes reality and fiction to present a mural of collective memory and, to understand the form of his own conflicts, through which he offers some clues to the essential searches of his generation.

A “memory film” about a generation that was in its childhood in the 50’s and that encountered its maturity in the 70’s. The film accompanies through the eyes of its protagonist and narrator, the fictitious character Guiga, the unveiling of a world of revelations. Guiga was born in the middle of the 20th century, in the still provincial city of Salvador (Bahia). He grew up in a country in transformation that presented the sexual revolution, women’s liberation, the hippy movement, student mobilization and the nightmare of a military take-over. A long journey that takes off from and returns to him, encountering along the way love, friends, losses, barriers, pain and happiness. A story told in the first person, human and uncensored, about that which is commonly called “life”.
