A man lives in an old neighborhood in Buenos Aires as if he was a reincarnation of Elvis Presley. He is about to become as old as Elvis was when he died. The decision of following his icon until the end takes him on a journey of madness and music.

Carlos Gutierrez is an Elvis Presley imitator who has never been able to get anywhere with his band and has had to work at a petrol plant to make a living, even though he sings with the same voice and feeling as his idol. All of his life, living in a working class neighborhood in Buenos Aires, he has tried to live every day as if it were a small tribute to Elvis Presley. But now he is about to turn 42 years old, the same age that Elvis was when he died, and an immense void opens before him. Carlos will have to decide how to keep on: to accept with disdain a life that he has tried to repress for some time, a life that has never made him happy, or to be able, despite the road blocks that life puts in his path, to end his days like the real King of Rock & Roll. Carlos makes a decision. He knows what he wants and has a plan. But he must struggle against the obstacles that reality puts in front of him. His ex-wife and his daughter are in a car accident and he must deal with this. He must take care of his daughter, for the first time. He must use his money to cover the hospital expenses. His plan seems to be fading away. But Carlos is determined. He sells everything he has to pull together the money and move ahead with his plan. He robs a pharmacy, but we don’t see what it is that he takes. He travels to Memphis in the United States. The same day that he turns 42 years old, he visits Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, and he walks around it with various tourists. Before it closes, he hides in a cleaning closet. When the night comes he gets out and goes around Elvis’ home as though it were his own. It is his home. In the silence of the night, he goes into the bathroom of Elvis Presley and dies taking pills, one after another. He dies in the same way and at the same age as his idol. It couldn’t have happened any other way.
