The first time we talked, Samuel said me something that I never forgot: “when you tell the people that I’m a trans boy, don´t forget tell them that I am more than that”. Our film will look to this small distance, between Sam and his loneliness, Sam and his fears, Sam and his vulnerability. Feelings that really cross us all, whenever we put ourselves in front of our own dreams.
For us, “Sam” talks about a current Brazil, the country that most kills transsexuals in the world and where today, facing of a serious coup against democracy, it´s forbidden to dream. Today we don´t know what will happen to Sam’s dream. But we know that his bravery to fight for it will make him grow up, crossing the frontier of adolescence. That’s what we’re going to show!
