Aballay was a bad-tempered gaucho . He was a resentful thief and murderer. But sometimes the image reflected by a mirror makes a man reconsider his whole life. In the life of Aballay, this mirror was the look of a kid. After brutally killing a man, the terrified look of the victim’s son raised Aballay consciousness about his savagery, and his lack of humanity. This blow confused Aballay and horrified him. That kid’s look doesn’t leave him. Aballay knows that man will look for him. And that man will find him.
