In the wake of his divorce, Alain Berriba, a brilliant French lawyer of Algerian origin, decides to return to France after a spell in Canada. Despite being born in the Auvergne region of central France, he soon realizes that his Algerian roots are an obstacle to finding work. He then manages to be hired as a basic worker by a cleaning company for a few days in order to understand the tough working conditions once faced by his father, to whom he has not spoken for years. Captivated by this world of manual labor which he discovers from the inside, he becomes fond of this community, his vocation as a lawyer leading him to defend their rights. A series of comical, touching and off-the-wall situations ensues, as Alain’s demanding double-life helps him to patch things up with his father and his wife.
