A story about life, love and identity - about growing up and finding out who we are - about leaving the past behind and moving on.
Year of production : 2011 Director(s) : Brian WARD Writer(s) : Brian WARD Producer(s) : Suzanne REID (Capricorn Film Productions)
Set on a remote sheep farm in 1967, "The Summer of Love", it's a celebration of the wild, beautiful, sometimes unforgiving Scottish landscape, and of a whole way of life that has almost gone. It's an evocation of a past where life was in tune with the seasons and the rhythms of the natural world, where childhood was somehow more innocent, but where adult passions boiled beneath the surface. It's a story touched by magic, but tinged with sadness - a bittersweet romance that gives us hope for a future in which love endures. The screenplay is written by Brian Ward (The Interpreter, Death Defying Acts) and is his feature debut as director. He is backed by a hugely experienced Scottish production team including Suzanne Reid, Joanna Dewar Gibb, Mike Kelt and cinematographer, Denis Crossan.
