Thomas is temporarily sent to a young people's refuge, after witnessing his mother being beaten up. No one will say where his little brother is, but Thomas swears to find him. At the refugee he meets the sexual aggressive Marianne, who always screws everything up and Terje, who is looking for his mother. They share a common dream, and together they embark on a journey of life and death. No one ends up where they planned, but everyone finds a home.
