After twenty-five years of voluntary exile in Milan, the forty year old Maurizio Di Tullio is forced to return to Foligno, his hometown, for the death of his mother and to speed up the procedure of rectification of the birth certificate, which is necessary to complete the transition process with which from woman he was (with the name of Teresa) he became a man. The Civil Status Officer who should acknowledge that simple bureaucratic operation is Giorgio De Santo, his first and only boyfriend. When he stands in front of him, Maurizio is unable to tell him the truth, fearing his judgment. A concern that sets in motion a number of misunderstandings to resolve. To do so Maurizio will have to deal with a past he hoped to have left behind forever. To make all more complicated, he meets Paula Badenes, a fascinating champion of civil rights. For Maurizio it’s love at first sight, but Paula is Giorgio's partner and as if that weren’t enough she spent many years during their relationship trying to make him forget his first love Teresa ... Will Maurizio succeed to untie all knots of the past and be reborn as a man for the second time ?
