Synopsis

Anita is the story of a woman-girl. It is the story of a girl who is almost 35 years old, has Down Syndrome and lives with her mother in the middle of Once neighborhood. Dora is her connection to the rest of the world. Anita and Dora are linked to each other.
On Monday, July 18th at 9.53, the earth shakes, the crystals on the glass case shatter, the shelves fall and she is on the ground covered with dust and blood, and suffers the most extreme horror and confusion. Anita does not know what has happened. She manages to stand up and steps out of the wrecked store towards the street.
Once she is outside, everything is in chaos. In the middle of a thick cloud of dust, she walks among people running disoriented, stunned and shocked. Anita does not understand, she thinks it is a dream. She is wounded and confused.
Anita’s life takes two paths in the movie. On the one side, Ariel –her brother– starts looking for her, and, on the other side, Anita embarks on a odyssey through a city that is no place and every place at the same time.
However, destiny will play an unsuspected hand: Anita will show up alive. Ariel will have to stop mourning for his sister, thought dead, and test his true sense of love: taking care of her.
Anita returns. She returns to the ruins of a once-happy life. She returns without knowing what has happened, hoping to find those days back at the party favor store with her hyperactive mother. She returns, but none of that exists anymore. Ariel has to explain what has happened. She tries to understand what is impossible to understand. And will have to go on and on…
