Synopsis
Becky DeMuth, 19 and pregnant, is travelling across country with her older brother Cal. They stop on a lonely stretch of highway, near an abandoned church. From a vast field of tall grass across the road they hear a young boy's cries for help. Becky and Cal wade into the grass to investigate and within minutes are disoriented and quickly lose one another, while the boy's cries grow more desperate.
Panic, exhaustion and claustrophobia set in as Becky and Cal soon discover that once you enter the grass, it will not let you leave. Distance, sound and time become distorted and just when they think they are close to the road, they find themselves back in the middle of their nightmare.
Cal finally reaches the boy, Tobin, who explains that his father, also in the grass, has succumbed to the evil energy that surrounds them. Possessed, he will kill to keep them there. Their only hope of escape rests in the hands of Becky's boyfriend Travis who has come looking for them, desperate to find his pregnant girlfriend. What follows is a thrilling tale of suspense and terror as the group, fearing for their lives, frantically try to find a way out.
This chilling collaboration between Vincenzo Natali (Splice, Cube, TV's Hannibal), master of horror Stephen King and best-selling author Joe Hill, will have audiences on the edge of their seats.
