Synopsis

Frennemis Jurés is a dark comedy about Esther and Rex, two ill-suited roommates, who are torn between coexisting and revenge. The two think they are absolute opposites but they will soon realize they are made of the same criminal cloth.
The story opens with Esther. She leads a secretive and orderly life with her cat and only love, Mr. Spock. When she takes on the unruly American Rex as a roommate, she is quickly overwhelmed by his lack of manners. Their differences turn daily life into a tacit war. Esther's best friend, Jean-François, tries to keep them both at bay. Although Rex tries his best to comply with Esther's endless list of demands, all his efforts fall short when he accidentally causes the death of her cat and decides to hide him in the freezer. Esther sees an opportunity to turn her distress into a way of manipulating her roommate. In doing so she develops a crush on him, and boasts to her cougar mom that he is her live-in boyfriend. Unfortunately, her mom who is dying to meet the new beau arrives in a surprise visit. Rex is stuck playing the part of the boyfriend but Mom is set on seducing the more than willing American prey. Esther has no choice but to show her dark side to put her mother back into place and keep Rex by her side.
