Synopsis

In this stylish, sexy thriller, violence and dark family secrets lurk beneath the surface of Miami’s alternative club scene.
When transvestites become the target of a brutal serial killer, Jack Doyle and Nick Pirelli are the cops assigned to the case. While Nick is idealistic and focused, Jack is a charismatic opportunist who moonlights as a private detective with his girlfriend, Jessica, a criminal lawyer. Although the chemistry between the couple is strong, the relationship suffers from Jack’s inability to commit.
Tensions rise when Jack and Jessica take on the case of Thomas Mason, a photographer looking for his missing sister, Catherine. The search leads Jack to the unkempt Mason estate and orangery inhabited by Thomas’ reclusive Uncle Joe, who insists Catherine is with him.
Back in the city, a frantic disorientated Thomas tells Jessica he thinks Catherine is dead and buried on the estate – and that he and Joe are responsible. Through a series of flashbacks, Thomas and Catherine’s traumatic, abusive childhood comes into focus. Jack and Jessica soon discover that Catherine died when she was ten – and Thomas, a schizophrenic, has been impersonating her and leading a double life ever since.
The ‘Catherine’ the men “buried” in Grove 38 of the estate was no more than a wig, jewellery and women’s clothing – a funeral ritual devised by Joe to help Thomas let go of his alter ego. Meanwhile, the transvestite body count is rising, Sally Willows, a volatile club-goer and friend of Catherine/Thomas becomes the prime suspect. A relentless, suspenseful and gripping film, CROSSOVER pulsates with bone-chilling plot twists – the final of which reveals the real murderer still at large.
