Synopsis

Adrian Healey, is a brilliant schoolboy: witty, mesmerizing - oh, and a total, utter liar, who does not always consider the tragic consequences of his deceits. But when we first meet him, he is in deep trouble: he's in a hotel room with a mysterious man... and he's been shot. As his life flashes before his eyes, we jump back to where the whole sorry story began...

... to a few years before, where a younger Adrian was an inmate at that great British institution: boarding school. There, he learns how to deceive others to get his way, falls in love with the wrong person, and is expelled for a disastrous prank. Yet, ever the dissembler, Adrian finds a way into University where he finally finds himself among minds as sharp and devious as his own. He strikes up a relationship with his eccentric Professor, Donald Trefusis who, recognising Adrian's duplicitous ways, lures him into a hidden world of international espionage.

There, Adrian discovers a world where nobody can be trusted... and where he no longer has to be a chameleon and can finally be himself. As his journey takes him from the rolling quads of Cambridge to the twisting roads of Austria, will Adrian finally find the truth... and will he make it out alive?
