In 1980, at the age of 10, Jingo Jamali— a second-generation Pakistani living in Copenhagen, Denmark — inherits a bingo hall from Gunnar Paulsen. By the time he is 23, in 1993, he has made a modest success of the business, mainly because the local aging population adore him. Everyone in the neighborhood knows who he is and respects his effervescent, positive energy. But one day, after acquiring a conspicuous vintage 1964 Mustang Convertible, Jingo’s Bingos, as it has become named, attracts the attention of Khalid Khan, the local Pakistani mafia boss who wants his cut. Khan sends over his henchmen to terrorize Jingo, ruffle his feathers (and Bingo counters) to make sure he understands how things work in their territory.
