Asier and I grew up together in the streets of Basque country. Later in life we took our own separate ways: my dream of becoming a professional actress led me away to Madrid while Asier remained in Pamplona. One day in 2001, Asier vanished. I soon learned that he had joined terrorist movement ETA.

Asier and I grew up together in the streets of Basque country. Later in life we took our own separate ways: my dream of becoming a professional actress led me away to Madrid while Asier remained in Pamplona. One day in 2001, Asier vanished. I soon learned that he had joined ETA. If this was a bitter pill for me to swallow, my Madrid friends, who reflected the views of Spanish public opinion, were dumbfounded. So when Asier was released from prison, I picked up a camera and decided to make a film so that my Madrid friends would get to know him better. However, during shooting, the Asier that I wanted to portray began to unravel before my eyes as a fantasy. The image of my friend who had joined a terrorist organization forced by pressing circumstances soon began to crumble.
