After his parents are killed in a car accident, Ethan (Mann) is left suffering from enormous guilt. He quits a promising future at MIT in order to care for his younger brother and sister, and soon realizes there is a correlation between ambient energy and the supernatural. Fueled by a desire to connect one last time with his parents, Ethan builds an extraordinary invention that might bring them back. He is successful, but instead of his parents, Ethan has brought back a host of other spirits with more sinister intentions.
