Synopsis
Paula, 25 years old, moves to a southern city in Argentina for the winter season, with the purpose of saving some money. The lack of a stable job and home, forces her to be on a permanent search. During that search, Paula meets Manuel, a 28-year-old man who works as a photographer, and with whom she starts an intense relationship that leads her to discover a side of herself that she ignored. As the relationship develops, the circumstances around her parallel life in the south will be revealed.
Paula has a boyfriend, Diego, who works in a little town, 50 kilometers away, and a 3-year-old daughter, Malena, who lives in her aunt’s house. Both Paula and Diego make a lot of sacrifice to be able to save enough money to run away from the country. They will have to get the Visas they need through Felipe, a man who helps them to speed up the process, in exchange for money.
At the beginning, we know nothing about Paula’s past life. However, a few details will appear along the story, which will give us some hints about her life in Buenos Aires. Among these details are Paula’s recurrent stomachaches, which oblige her to have a medicine everyday; a series of mysterious calls; the guilt of an act of her past; an unfinished university career.
In this environment, Paula struggles to find a place within a social structure that leaves her out. She, however, far from feeling self-pity, stands up against adversity. Paula builds up a strong personality that hides her vulnerable side.
Paula is close to reach the objective that took her to that place and, however, she is not so sure about going ahead. The plans are under way and Paula has to choose between staying in Argentina or leaving the country.
