In an inhospitable rural area in the Northwest of Argentina, sexism, poverty and repression during the last military dictatorship in the country provide the setting for the tragedy of Bumbún, the daughter of an alcoholic and violent worker who forces her to take a boy's identity since the day she's born. Her life is torn between accepting her fate or fighting to change it.
