An action/adventure/romance set in XIX century St. Petersburg THE DUELIST is directed by a renowned independent director Alexey Mizgirev, whose first three films became festival and critical darlings, THE DUELIST is his debut in the genre cinema. Set in XIX century St. Petersburg the story follows a professional duelist who fights for money and never loses. Long time ago he was framed for a crime, stripped of his title and sent to the Russian Far East. But he survived, assumed another identity and has returned to St. Petersburg to seek revenge. In St. Petersburg he meets the woman whose love transforms him but he also meets the man behind all of his tragedies and is forced to confront his past. THE DUELIST will be widely released in Russia in September of 2016 in IMAX format.
