'The "Hope" Factory' is a story of Sveta, a girl who was born and grew up in Norilsk. She spends all her free time with her friends, a group of teens from the neighborhood who have been together since their childhood. Lately the main character has been struggling to leave her native town. She wants to move to her boyfriend, Max. Still Sveta needs money in order to make her dream come true. Having got no help from her relatives and friends, the girl retreats to herself and develops hate for everyone around accusing them of all the bad things in her life. The main target of her hate is Nadya, a girl who charges people for sex. The main character believes that Nadya is to blame for all her misfortunes because in a way it was Nadya who used to be the reason for Max’s departure. What’s more, Nadya announces that she’s about to leave for the mainland. The news leaves Sveta horrified: now her rival has stolen her dream! All these events make Sveta take drastic measures.
