Synopsis

Alagoas, 1910. The German physician and geologist José Gosch (Odillon Wagner) developed a small shale processing plant. His dream, however, is to deploy an oil company. Gosch works in partnership with his coined Inocêncio (Daniel Dantas) that develops ambiguous links with Otto Manheimer (Felipe Kannemberg), renowned American engineer hired by the Brazilian government.
The murder of Joseph Gosch in 1918 interrupts the search for oil in Alagoas. In the mid-20s, both his son Pedro (Thiago Fragoso) and godson João (Danton Mello) majors in Engineering and pursue, in different ways, the dream left by José Gosch.
Alongside the pursuit of Brazilian oil, these characters live intense passionate stories, too. In a plot of passions and dreams, only one goal: the dream of national progress.
