Synopsis

Eerika, 18, gets stung by a bee. The bee sting gets very sore and she goes to the doctor. The doctor finds out that Eerika has melanoma.
Eerika and her parents go on holiday to the Basque Country of Spain. In an ancient cave Eerika takes a picture of a 15 000 year old skeletal human remain that once was a teenage boy.
Back home Eerika is not just facing the nerve wrecking waiting for the results of her medical tests but also the fears of her parents who - both successful urban media people – seem to have much bigger problems with facing the idea of death – not to mention their own aging – then their sick daughter.
One evening Eerika finds in her room Ruf, the Basque human remain turns up alive in Helsinki. A close – magic like – relationship starts between the two during which Ruf helps Eerika to overcome the fear of death, teaches her to love and tries – lead by bees - himself find his way to the gate of life which would get him out of this strange modern world to eternity.
