Synopsis

In post-apocalyptic Namibia, a silent young man named "Z" is plagued by nightmares of the flood that ended his world. Haunted by memories of his deceased younger brother, Z endures a strained existence in a decaying city where resources are few and cannibalism is the only reliable food source.
Z's survival depends upon his subservience to a gang of ruthless street children and their sadistic Chief. He is both Butcher and Gravedigger. But he is also the Dream Collector, gathering various trinkets and treasures off the corpses he buries. When Z finds a Girl at a new grave, he is stunned. A Girl is a rare thing; a coveted prize. Driven to follow her, he discovers her world… a place where hope is not lost and 'the darkness' – the void descending upon the Earth – is accepted without fear.
When Z's gang discovers Nadia's existence, Z has a choice. To sacrifice Nadia to their whims, or escape with her into the wild. For the first time in his life, Z makes an unselfish decision.
It's the end of the world, but their journey is just beginning.
