Year of production : 2013 Director(s) : Nora ARMANI Writer(s) : Nora ARMANI
After many years in the Diaspora, Naira, an Armenian born in Egypt, has to go home to her birthplace, Cairo. She feels this long overdue trip may throw some light on the reason why she cannot find her place and identity in the various countries where she has lived. But can return be possible when nothing is the same any more, and none of her loved ones are around to welcome her home? Especially in view of the changing current political climate where religious fundamentalism guides the people's social and political motives. Following her short MOVING STORIES (Cannes Short Film Corner 2012, ARPA- Los Angeles, Festival de Films de Femmes de Creteil, Monaco Charity Film Festival Official Selection, and World Arts Film Festival, MOCA Jacksonville, Florida) Actor/Filmmaker Nora Armani directs the feature film AL AWDA (THE RETURN).
