In PETIT MONDE, Paris in 1909 is a darkly erotic prism through which we see the emergence of a new era of human awareness. We will be with Marcel Proust as he excavates our experience of identity, writing of the memory buried within the memory of a memory. An arrondissement away, millionaire philanthropist Albert Kahn is keenly aware of converging anti-semitic forces and is trying to open minds to cultures around the world, sending a missionary team of photographers to 50 countries, taking some of the first color photographs in human history. Together they are charting a new inner and outer vision of the world.
