Synopsis

The Right Juice is an full length feature film from the `real’ Algarve which captures the rich cultural blend of the region. The Algarve is the southern part of Portugal, in the far South West of Europe. Entertaining and engaging in equal measure, funny and moving, audiences will recognize every character it portrays. They will be entranced as the plot weaves its way through customs old and new, using the charm and humour which mixed languages evoke, towards a compelling climax.
Picture the scenario - Oliver Fellows, a young man pursuing a new and more fulfilling life, plans to refurbish a ramshackle farm cottage and grow oranges. His wife Sally, fancying a villa with a pool, despairs of the lack of facilities and her husband’s fantastic ideas. A banker by profession, he is in a fool’s paradise, wanting to start his orange plantation, yet is there even water on his plot? Is there a market for oranges? Is he running away from his past, or racing towards his future? A developing friendship with his neighbour Manel, encounters with old enemies from his city years, a disillusioned marriage, a hint of new romantic possibilities, and a personal quest to save the region from exploitation all create havoc in what was to be a peaceful idyll. His dream becomes a nightmare as he tries to resolve all his problems. A movie for anyone who loves the Algarve - or anyone who has ever had a dream.
