Roberta, a reputed female classical musician, is approaching her 50 years and fighting a serious kidney condition. During a trip to Recife that can turn to be her last tour, Roberta gets sick and faints on the stage. Father Joseph, 40 years old, is in the audience and the first to aid Roberta. They become friends. In order to consummate physical union between the two, Father Joseph decides to give away his kidney to Roberta. Cesar, 45 years old, is an expert in that kind of transplant and will perform the surgery. Eventually, he starts feeling attracted to Roberta. At this point, the film establishes a dramatic core that will be the center of the whole plot, especially for it emerges from the interaction of such distinct role models, which mutually influence one another and help to create an unexpected narrative, filled with revelations on life, death, family, religion, and love.
