Nurgül Özdemir (Meral Polat) is a 28 year-old Turkish-Dutch police officer who works in a provincial town in the north of the Netherlands.When she is asked to come to Amsterdam for a temporary undercover assignment, Nurgül jumps at the chance without any hesitation. Just before her departure, her older brother Gokhan (Ali Ben Horsting), suddenly appears on their doorstep. He has had no contact with his parents for twenty years following a serious conflict. Gokhan has heard that their father is seriously ill and wants to restore family ties again.
