Laura lives in Buenos Aires with her stepfather, Fredo. When she was only a little girl, she and her mother left the Basque Country, after allegedly being abandoned by her father. One day she receives a call from Spain- her father's body has just been found buried in a nearby wood. The forensic evidence is crystal clear: Félix Careaga died over 30 years ago from a shot on his back. Laura decides to travel to Spain with Fredo to bury her father and to fulfil her mother's wish to spread her ashes in her native land. During the trip, they meet an insurance agent who informs Laura about the existence of a life insurance policy signed by her father. The three of them will embark on a peculiar investigation to discover who took Félix Careaga 's life.
