Lucía travels to Valparaíso, Chile, to look for her mother whom she has never met before after receiving a six-month-old letter from her. Once she arrives at the alleged meeting point, she finds no trace of her mother and decides to keep looking for her.

Lucía travels to Valparaíso, Chile, to look for her mother whom she has never met after receiving a six-month-old letter from her. Once she arrives at the alleged meeting point, she finds no trace of her mother. She suffers a harassment attempt by two drunk young men in a public bus and loses all her belongings, but decides to keep looking for her. In her journey around the city she meets several people who help her rebuild her own story.
