Synopsis
Ivan Simon is a multitalented artist, musician, illustrator, painter, with a very objective and sometimes pungent view on seminal social aspects, based on a very personal point of view, and a vast cultured background. The development of his comic: Dr. Nasha, serves as a vehicle to articulate a parallel universe in a frontal contrast with our own, establishing sociopolitical and spiritual differences in a very intelligent way. At the same time, the hero of the comic, his alter-ego, Dr. Nasha, is a psychedelic psychiatrist that cures souls with melodies, entheogenic plants, generosity, piety and logic. Ivan Simon, the young artist from Tarragona, is a modern magician that manipulates delicate essences found in nature and creates modern mixes in the form of incense sticks. His Achilles heel is an incurable illness, Crohn's disease, and he tries to cure it using an ancient remedy, the ayahuasca vine, with a traditional shamanic approach. Ayahuasca, or Yagé, has proven to calm his terrible outbreaks that always ends in hospitalization. After more than two decades of pain and restrictions, the only possible way to relieve his physical burden is celebrating a ritualistic ceremony, documented here from beginning to end. Beneficial spirits lead the way to a brief pause for Ivan Simon, to a well deserved peace, a possible path to self healing.
