Synopsis

Brussels. ELAINE (31) raises her son MARTIN (7) as a single mother. When he begins to exhibit bodily transformations and aggressive behavior, even biting another child, Elaine decides to look for his late father’s family in neighboring Luxembourg.
At first, Elaine and Martin are overwhelmed by the attentions lavished on them by Patrick's parents, ADRIENNE and JOSEPH Urwald (65), pillars of the quiet suburban community. While Martin gets better, Elaine and Adrienne soon clash over styles of upbringing - Elaine’s laissez-faire attitude vs. Adrienne’s old-fashioned fire and brimstone.
When Adrienne seems to abuse Martin, Elaine wants to take him back home - not realizing that the boy has been changed to the point of no return: the Urwalds are actually man-eating lycanthropes who repress the animal side to survive in society. Taken prisoner, Elaine faces the dilemma of raising her son according to his nature, but knowing he will turn into a beast - like his father, who they discover chained in the attic.
Refusing to play by their rules, Elaine is deemed an enemy. In the final battle, Elaine destroys the Urwalds and regains her motherhood… while Martin makes peace with what he might become.
