Rebecca, a young librarian specialized in antiquarian books, is charged by an Italianbased Prince to evaluate the state of his massive library. Detached from the outside world, the Prince lives in a luxurious castle in the midst of lush countryside. The girl’s arrival to the castle apparently upsets the otherwise ordinary world of the few people working at the Prince’s services. A mute teenager, a butcher, a disquieting governess and the Prince himself seem to share an obscure secret. Rebecca is clearly uncomfortable with the rigid house rules that are imposed upon her, and considers abandoning the project when she runs into a mysterious diary belonging to a girl by the name of Lara. A librarian herself...apparently disappeared from the face of the earth some time before. The discovery raises Rebecca’s curiosity and off she sets to unveil the secret, the nature of which will bring her face to face with the very essence of Evil.
