Panceta works in a metal factory and lives with his widowed mother outside of Buenos Aires. But his ambition to make money have him manufacturing home-made guns in his father's shop and selling them in the slums. Inexperienced and unaware of the danger, he is challenged by the local mafia. One night when delivering guns he meets Clara, a young girl working at the local community hall. Their attraction for one another is strong and they decide to take off on a boat trip along the river. A man in love becomes easy prey for his enemies, especially for the powerful local mafia boss.
