"Hard Winter" is a TV series consisting of eight 50-minute episodes. This drama-thriller tells the story of LAUREN, a vet assistant who lives in an isolated community in the mountains.
LAUREN is a lonely woman who lives with her trusty dobermann (Dylan), living in a town where the locals are rough and rude, such as the rocks seen in the landscape setting. Everything appears fine even as winter is approaching, which promises to be particularly long and tough. Suddenly everybody in town is shaken up by a series of dog murders caused by poisoning. This tragedy has hit all dogs in the community: pets, shelter and stray dogs.
Nobody has a clue of who's causing these murders and it's hard to find a suspect; not even the police has a lead so the suspicion applies to all and the locals begin to rebel. LAUREN fears that her beloved dog could also be at risk. However, someone is looking to kill her instead. Could this be caused by her questionable past? She has debts from her partner who's been in a coma for years, or the wooded land she owns? A land that someone is trying to get at all costs.
Not only is it the cruelest winter of LAUREN's life, but it's a winter that could break her down or test her strength and courage... but is it at a deadly cost? Will she rise above the challenges and be up for killing in order to survive? Or will she succumb to the allure of revenge?
