Miqueu (Michel) is a musician. He resides in a little village in Provence. His wife, Niké, the painter is Hungarian and the two have a 24 –year-old son, Balthazar, a violinist. Michel has been invited to play a concert in Budapest with Hungarian musicians. Michel asks Balthazar to help him. They head off. To Baltazar, this trip is a return back to roots. He is half-Hungarian, after all. To Michel, this is a great opportunity to look up old friends he jammed with in the last forty years. Staging a concert with friends old and new. They arrive for the Dance House Festival in Budapest, where Michel gets busy recruiting musicians for the concert. Cue rehearsals with Vujicsics Band in Szentendre, and Márta Sebestyén, Ferenc Sebő, Csaba Ökrös in Budapest. Finally, the concert on A38, the music moat. Everyone’s there. The concert builds up by Michel playing an Occitan, French or other song, and the Hungarian musicians returning the serve with their own. Sort of a musical dialogue. This is a musical journeys in space, time and spirit. Just as we are Trying to find our place in terms of tradition, within Europe.
