Ned - husband, father and talented but frustrated television writer - faces a life crisis when his wife Jeannie’s curmudgeonly father, Ernie, comes to live with them. The combination of Ernie’s irascible personality, Jeannie’s agitation over having to care for him, the strain of raising an independent teen-age son and trying to satisfy his boss’s bad taste, leaves the stressed-out Ned vulnerable to the advances of his attractive co-worker, Robin, which has more than the expected side effects.
