In the inner-most regions of the amazonian territory, two families work in the informal market. One of them is led by the family’s father RAIMUNDO, an experienced illegal lumberman known to be on the vanguard of deforestation. The second family is led by his brother TIÃO, a responsible rainforest extractivist and an environmental conservationist leader. Raimundo’s right hand is his older son JÚLIO, who acts as an illegal lumberman together with his father, cousins and younger brother. The life of both families begins to change when MARCO appears, a large farmer involved with landgrabbing activities, who seeks the piece of land where Tião’s family lives. With the aid of JUSTO, an introspective latin american intermediary of unknown origin, who lives in the country’s border and has connections with the main lumber trafficking routes, begins a journey which unfolds into an ingenious scheme and a perverse deforestation plot. Narrated by a wise midwife called MAIARA, the film reveals secrets throughout the plot and has a striking outcome.
