A rookie writer Noboru Aihara (Osamu Mukai) goes back to his hometown for the first time in years to give a lecture about his debut novel at his old high school. When he arrives, he runs into Tetsuko Kanbayashi (Yuko Nakamura) who he’s known from high school but hasn’t seen for years. As they reunite, Noboru is reminded of a bitter sweet memory of his high school days… 15 years ago. Since entering high school, Noboru (Taro Takeuchi) has gone mostly unnoticed by his peers. One day, a friendly senior student named Shun Miyazaki (Asuka Kudo) calls him over and introduces him to Yo Momose (Akari Hayami), a student from a neighboring class, then makes a strange request. In order to quell a rapidly spreading rumor that Shun has become romantically involved with Momose despite going out with Tetsuko (Anna Ishibashi), one of the most popular girls in school, he asks Noboru to pretend to be Momose's boyfriend until the rumor dies.
