Deep within Yellowstone National Park, wildlife biologist Amy Kessen leads a group of rangers through the vast wilderness to investigate a wolf pack they suspect may be responsible for a mysterious decline in the area’s animal population. However the family of wolves is not the cause, and are merely trying to survive themselves against a much more sinister force. Nearby a hydraulic fracturing drill on the park’s border has inadvertently unleashed an ancient parasitic organism to the earth’s surface. Spreading like wildfire, the organism infects every living thing in its path until finding the perfect host: humans.
